As the Marketing Development Manager for Georgia-Pacific in Brunswick, GA, Elaine’s
job is multi-faceted and extremely fast-paced. She handles all marketing efforts for the Brunswick operations facility, including writing of advertisements,
brochures, on-line newsletters, and other forms of communication. It is her responsibility to research, recommend, plan and organize all training functions
for her department. Organizing community-involvement activities for non-profit agencies also falls within her area of responsibility. In addition, she’s
responsible for customer events and trade shows, both national and international. She notes that on her bulletin board is her daily “to do”
list, summed up as: (1) Get a Grip (2) Hang On.
Georgia-Pacific’s consumer-products business is the world’s largest producer of tissue products and North America’s largest producer of
disposable tableware. Its bleached pulp and paper business is the world’s second-largest producer of fluff pulp, used to make disposable diapers,
baby wipes, coffee filters and other absorbent materials.
Although they have had a successful trade show program at Georgia-Pacific for many years, Elaine attributes her educational training through Exhibitor Show
and the CTSM program with helping her develop ways to streamline, improve, upgrade, enhance and more efficiently report results. Her education has helped
her change her motto from “Get a grip and hang in there,” to “get a firm grasp and shine everywhere.” |
