How To Successfully Participate in German (European) Trade Shows

Europe, especially Germany, has a long history in trade shows. Worldwide leading exhibitions have been developed over decades as well as high-level venue infrastructure and a culture of supplying reliable, well structured services to organizers, exhibitors and visitors. In this session, you’ll learn how to:

•  Identify the right show

•  Interpret attendee figures (the German FKM counting method)

•  Create a good working relationship with the exhibition management

•  Optimize your decisions on what you need to bring in and what you can expect from local sources

FACULTY:

Andreas Winckler
Since 2003 Andreas Winckler has been the head of the service division of Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH, the venue operator of the internationally renowned trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt. His four service departments provide trade fair exhibitors, visitors and organisers various services that support their trade fair participation, visit or operations in many respects. In 2007, Dr. Winckler expended his responsibility for exhibition related services by overtaking additionally to his current function the position as general manager at Messe Frankfurt Medien und Service GmbH, Messe Frankfurt’s service provider for stand construction, publishing and advertising services.




Dennis Smith
Working in the international trade show industry for more than 20 years, Dennis is currently serving as President of Messe Frankfurt Inc. the U.S. Subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt in Atlanta. He is responsible for Messe Frankfurt’s US events and for key account management of US customers taking part in trade fairs in Frankfurt and at the company’s other locations around the world. During his career Mr. Smith spent over 15 years living and working in Europe and is considered a trade show specialist in a multitude of industries to include healthcare, manufacturing, IT, food, textiles and automotive. According to Dennis, seeing the results of the many US companies he assisted in achieving their exporting goals has been extremely rewarding. Since 1991, the US office of Messe Frankfurt has been organizing events in the U.S. and providing turn-key services to US based exporters and buyers at its events in Frankfurt and around the globe.
