Look Ma...No Truss! Creative LED Booth Lighting

Discover the best ways to employ new technologies and methods in LED booth lighting. In this session, we’ll learn the value of theatrical lighting and the critical steps required to implement an LED lighting strategy without the cost of overhead truss. As well, we’ll examine questions of rental vs. purchase, mounting methods and implementing a ‘green’ LED lighting strategy. You’ll learn:

•  When to fly or not to fly a lighting truss?

•  LED lighting overview

•  Incorporating exhibit properties and lighting

•  User-friendly control methods

•  Command/Control options for dramatic effects

FACULTY:

Paul Fine
In October of 1992, Paul Fine founded Fine Design Associates, Inc. to fulfill the growing need for an outstanding lighting design firm to service the exhibit, trade show and corporate events industry. Paul has designed for leading exhibit trade show and special event producers for the past 20 years including: Sparks Exhibits and Environments, Exhibitgroup / Giltspur, Jack Morton Worldwide, MC-2, and Sho-Aids, Cal Ostlund Exhibits and Derse. Other Fine Design projects have also included marquee names such as IBM, Panasonic, Samsung, Intel, HP-Compaq, Turner Broadcasting, Astra Zenica, Dunkin’ Donuts, Ciena, N’vidia, Timberland, Boston Scientific, Agilent, Volvo, John Deere, Canon, Hershey’s, RJR, Shire Pharma, DuPont, Verizon, Hisense and others.




John-Paul Szczepanski
John-Paul Szczepanski is a 1987 graduate of the State University on New York at Purchase with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Lighting Design. He has designed the lighting for many theatrical shows, fashion Shows and corporate events in New York and touring productions around the United States. He also worked as an Assistant Lighting Designer on Broadway for over 8 years. He has been working with Fine Design Associates since 2001 and has worked with such clients as Samsung, Canon, Panasonic, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Hershey’s, Monster Cable, Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches and Boston Scientific. John-Paul is a member of United Scenic Artist Local #829 of I.A.T.S.E.
