EXHIBITOR Magazine’s Virtual Events Survey Shows Modest Momentum
Exhibitor Media Group, the leader in trade show and corporate event marketing education, today announced the results of EXHIBITOR magazine's 2013 Virtual Events Survey, which reveal that while virtual events may not be gaining the kind of traction many anticipated, the technology continues to gain momentum - especially for companies with relationship- and awareness-based objectives.
Momentum has been modest since EXHIBITOR magazine published its 2011 Virtual Events Survey findings. Today, fewer than four out of 10 respondents report corporate participation in any form of virtual event - a figure that is essentially identical to the 2011 results. But despite the fact the percentage of companies employing virtual options has plateaued, it appears their commitment to and satisfaction with those options has inched upward.
"Our conclusion, which is supported by the data, is that virtual options are best utilized for marketing efforts not directly related to lead-gen or sales-driven objectives, or for internal training purposes." commented Travis Stanton, editor, EXHIBITOR magazine. "The most consistent outcomes of virtual events converge around softer objectives such as brand awareness, relationship building, and market insight."
