Moreton Hire Delivers Largest International Congress in Australia
Business event supplier, Moreton Hire, has delivered the largest international congress to ever be held in Australia; the 22th World Diabetes Congress, a feat for Australian suppliers on the international stage.
Held last week at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, The World Diabetes Congress is the largest health conference in Australia’s history and is the only global diabetes event of its kind in the world. The Congress welcomed over 10,000 delegates from 100 nations.
As the official event and infrastructure provider for the congress, Moreton Hire relished the opportunity to showcase the world-class standard Australian suppliers can deliver for international conferences.
COO, Roger Motteram, said the Moreton Hire Team were meticulous in ensuring no detail was overlooked in their preparation - which included 24-hour call service for international exhibitors.
“At Moreton Hire, we understand the critical role we play as suppliers in ensuring a successful event for organisers and delegates. We wanted to guarantee a seamless delivery for the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), not only in support of their cause and the event, but also to showcase the caliber of events we can deliver here in Australia,” Motteram said.
Hosting 10,000 delegates was a true feat for IDF and in turn required extensive conference infrastructure including; carpet, display booths, design, power, furniture, signage, rigging, entrance features, sponsorship areas, hospitality suites, poster display panels, onsite storage, internet kiosks and custom stand builds.
More specifically the Moreton Hire team delivered:
• 3,000sqm of fabricated custom exhibition stands, the largest stand being 360 square meters
• 9,500sqm carpet tiles
• 1,300 poster submissions on display
• 150 square meters of frame fabric banners
• 306 individual directional, promotional and sponsors signs
• Congress bag distribution space spanning 50mtrs in length to house 12,000 delegate bags
• 21 registration terminals points
