HCEA 2014 Summit Features Joint Panel with International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association (IPCAA)
A distinguished panel of healthcare convention marketing experts from both the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) and the International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association (IPCAA) share their perspectives regarding the United States (Sunshine Act – Open Payments Program) and the Pan European requirements for reporting physician-related expenses and the impact on the future of congresses as one of several interactive panels during the newly formatted HCEA 2014 Healthcare Convention Marketing Summit. This year’s Summit, scheduled for January 22-23, 2014, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, features consecutive educational sessions and an additional half day of programming. The Summit is an intensive learning forum that focuses on high-level current topics in the healthcare convention marketing industry.
On Wednesday, January 22, the joint HCEA/IPCAA panel “The Changing Face of the Congress Dynamic in the Age of Transparency” is planned, followed by a Senior-Level Education.
Session led by Dr. William Trombetta, Esq., Professor at St. Joseph University’s Haub School of Business.
Learning opportunities scheduled for the full-day of programming on Thursday, January 23 include the following sessions:
• City Talk: What Drives Business to Leading Healthcare Meeting Locations and Why?
What factors are involved with site selection for many associations? What drive business to leading healthcare meeting locations and why? These questions will be discussed by a panel of experts from several convention & visitors bureaus who host a significant number of healthcare meetings. From facilities designed to hold medical conventions, marketing suites, to partnering and community-based events, explore what cities are doing to increase the business of location.
• The Emerging Healthcare Marketplace: Consider ACOs and IDNs as Part of the Mix
Discover what Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) are, including the process for development. This session will examine how they are becoming a part of the emerging healthcare marketplace. You may find that these could be useful to implement or stay informed of for your organization or company.
• Open Payments Program - Where We Are Now?
Now that reporting has been well underway since August 1, 2013, where are we now with meeting the requirements of the Sunshine Act (Open Payments Program)? This session will explore the now and future of this requirements and how to effectively meet these requirements without alienating physicians and key stakeholders.
• Redesigning Your Approach – Consumer-Oriented Marketing Is the Here and Now
Patient and digital-centric have been a long time coming in pharma with a horizon still unseen. Consumer and patient-oriented events represent a new frontier for medical meetings and a new responsibility for many companies and organizations in the very near future if not already part of a forward marketing plan.
