Rossi Ralenkotter, president/CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), was recognized today by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) with its highest honor, the Pinnacle Award.
Each year, IAEE recognizes professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the exhibitions and events industry during its annual Expo! Expo! trade show. This year’s show was held in Houston, TX. The Pinnacle Award recognizes an individual whose hard work and dedication over the years has furthered IAEE’s objectives of advancing exhibition management.
"I’m truly humbled to be in the company of an esteemed group of peers and industry icons who have received the Pinnacle Award in the past," said Ralenkotter. "I share this prestigious honor with the talented team at the LVCVA and with all our resort and allied partners who work tirelessly every day to ensure Las Vegas remains the premier destination for leisure and business travel."
With more than 40 years devoted to the exhibitions and events industry, Ralenkotter is currently responsible for marketing and branding Las Vegas and Southern Nevada as the world’s most desirable destination for leisure and business travel. Under his leadership, the LVCVA successfully launched "Vegas Stories," best known for its oft-repeated tagline, "What happens here, stays here.™" With Ralenkotter’s oversight, Las Vegas has maintained its ranking as the No. 1 trade show destination in North America for 19 consecutive years and achieved record visitation in 2012 with nearly 40 million visitors.
"Rossi’s achievements are a perfect example of how prolific and diverse a career in the exhibitions and events industry can be," said David DuBois, IAEE president/CEO. His contributions over the past 40 years, and to this day, advance the face-to-face industry in a way we can all be proud of. I congratulate Rossi."
Ralenkotter is a past chair of the U.S. Travel Association and recently completed his term as chair to the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board for the U.S Department of Commerce.
