GestureTek Wins Apex Award at 2014 DSE Awards
GestureTek Systems Inc.® leaves 2014 Digital Signage Expo® (DSE) on a high note again, winning the Gold Apex Award under the Arts, Entertainment and Recreation category, for its digital signage display 'Art Alive' at the Crayola Experience redesign. The impressive display, located in Easton Pennsylvania, combines technology, creativity and design. It features four giant 16'x9' projection screens sophisticated audio visual integration and a unique technology solution that allows guests to wirelessly send their digital creations from a mobile device into GestureTek's live projected interactive display.
"Every year, DSE award winners reveal what's new and cutting edge in digital signage development, deployment and content creation," stated Vincent John Vincent, CEO of GestureTek. He added, "It is always our aim to create digital signage installations and content that take the technology to the next level and to truly engage consumers and visitors. Working with Crayola we had a fantastic opportunity to integrate our gesture controlled projection systems with the user's mobile devices, making this one of the most impressive and immersive installations we have carried out to date."
GestureTek's 'Art Alive!' installation for the new Crayola Experience is a digital creative experience that allows children to create art on a given mobile device. At 40 different iPad stations, kids can colour and draw an image, apply an animation effect to it (shrink, breakup, spin, change colour) and send it into one of four custom worlds (underwater, space, fairytale, safari) that are projected onto four 16'x9' screens. Once a guest's creation is on the big screen, they can step up and interact with the animated world, as well as their own art work design by moving their body or waving their arms in front of the screen.
For the same project GestureTek is delighted to win bronze for the DSE 2014 Content Award, also in the Arts, Entertainment & Recreation category. The Content Award recognizes innovative and compelling content created for digital signage and digital out-of-home networks.
"GestureTek is happy to have won a number of DSE Awards in the past. The DSE Awards recognize innovation and excellence as demonstrated in the deployment and installation of technology and creation of content in the global digital signage industry. So to be winners in both the Apex and Content Award categories by a panel of industry experts is such an honor and it's wonderful recognition for all the GestureTek team and all the pioneer work we have done over the years," explained Vincent John Vincent.
