PRG Executive Jim Kelley Receives Industry Honors
Production Resource Group, L.L.C. (PRG) is proud to congratulate Jim Kelley, PRG Director of Global Accounts, Corporate and Trade Show Services, on being named to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Incentive Research Foundation (IRF). Kelley has also been awarded the 2013 Distinguished Service Professional of the Year by the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
“I am honored to be selected to serve on the IRF board,” said Kelley. “What attracted me to the IRF is their focus on research and education for the meetings and events industry. Their efforts prove the value of the industry to the economy; and help business better define the value of face-to-face interactions. More importantly, their programs help businesses improve attendee engagement and their overall experience. The board is made up of a superstar list of players in the industry and my humble hope is that I can make some contribution. I certainly know that I am going to learn from everyone of them.”
Melissa Van Dyke, President of the IRF stated, “Jim’s understanding of the meetings/incentive market and his extensive strategic and educational contributions to organizations such as PCMA, IAEE, and CEIR made him a perfect fit for the IRF. “With such a strong background in strategy and non-profit education, we are very much looking forward to having Jim help the board fine tune our goals, expand our strategic relationships, and increase the amount of relevant, actionable education we produce for our constituencies.”
“We could not be more pleased to have Jim as an addition to our very talented Board of Trustees,” commented President of the IRF Board of Trustees, Sandra Daniel. “His insights on the industry, as well as his long tenure in planning and executing events have already proven to be a tremendous asset to what our mission is all about at the IRF.”
In addition to being named to the IRF Board of Trustees, Kelley was also given the 2013 Distinguished Service Professional of the Year by the PCMA. This honor is given to a meeting service provider who is instrumental in the success of a program or event. The PCMA cited, “Jim’s attention to detail, uncanny ability to exceed planner expectations, and foresight into an event’s needs are well known throughout the industry. Jim, the volunteer Co-Chair of the 2013 PCMA Education Conference Committee, was instrumental to the event’s record-breaking success. Additionally he consistently supports year-round PCMA education on both a chapter and national level.”
Kelley belongs to a number of industry associations and is active on many boards and committees including, PCMA—Chair, Education Conference; IAEE—Previous Board Member, Current Member of the Senior Executive Education Committee; CEIR—National Trustee; and PCMA Capital Chapter—Director of Education. It is that dedication to the industry and his well-deserved reputation throughout that made the IRF wish to include him on their Board of Trustees.
“It is great to see Jim be recognized for the dedicated professional all of us at PRG have always known him to be. His caring, creativity, and absolute focus on customer support are the values we are proud to say can be found in the people at PRG,” stated Al Dyess, President, PRG Corporate and Trade Show Services. “It is also of note that Jim’s award is for service because at PRG we are focused on providing our customers with complete solutions well beyond simply supplying equipment. It is rewarding that our unmatched depth of industry experience and technical expertise throughout our team gives customers the confidence that PRG will always deliver complete solutions for their corporate events, conferences, meetings, and exhibits.”
For Kelley the recognition is humbling, “Being named to the IRF Board of Trustees and being honored by PCMA for me reconfirms the underlying business principles I have always tried to live by—‘Just do the right thing’ and ‘Pay it forward.’ Also it is very important to know that this award really validates the work done by my colleagues at PRG. For many of our clients I am the front man, but the reality is that our entire team of professionals at PRG is doing the heavy lifting. This recognition really belongs to all of them.”
