Echelon Design, Inc. Expands Environmental Efficiency and Sustainability Initiatives
Since 2010 Echelon Design, Inc. has been highly committed to environmental and sustainability issues. During that time over 115,000 pounds of recycled exhibit components such as crates, furniture, carpet and padding have been ground up and reused. Among these recycling activities is wood shipped to power plants in Wisconsin and then burned for fuel while metal is separated and shipped to scrap yards.
In 2014 Echelon expanded its commitment to being green by adopting a corporate policy on environmental and sustainability items. The policy covers over 60 areas such as the use of alternative fuels in the transit of exhibit materials, consolidated shipping, modular/reusable designs and local sourcing.
Echelon President and Founder Reid Harman stated, "The exhibit industry generates large quantities of unused materials due to production and obsolescence. Most projects generate components that need to be disposed of once a job is completed or outlived its use. Echelon believes that we have a responsibility to the environment and we have been further developing ongoing and meaningful initiatives to become a more environmentally conscious organization."
Founded in 1986, Echelon a Gilberts IL based firm, focuses on integrating all facets of design, architectural, multimedia and visual communications using state of the art technology for trade shows, corporate environments and museums.
Echelon's award-winning work spans North and South America, Europe and the Middle East with clients in the Music, Jewelry, Print Product, Communications & Tech, Petroleum, Financial Services, Medical Device, Energy and Utilities sectors.
