Medical Fair India 2014 Closes with Increased Visitor and Exhibitor Participation
MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2014, India’s No. 1 Trade Fair for Hospitals, Health Centers and Clinics, recently closed in Mumbai with increased visitors and exhibitor participation. A total of 443 exhibitors and 8,013 registered trade visitors took part, further establishing its position as the most important medical event for the Indian market (at the 2012 staging, 323 exhibitors and 6,721 trade visitors participated). The India healthcare market is booming and the trade fair was characterized by international contacts, strong buying interest and good conversations among experts.
The product portfolio at the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2014 included innovations from around the world which specifically target the Indian healthcare market. The exhibitors presented the entire spectrum of products from all relevant sectors: medical technology, hospital, health clinic and pharmacy equipment and furnishings as well as rehabilitation technology. In addition to country group exhibits from China, Germany, Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan, the trade fair featured a U.S. Pavilion which was supported by the U.S. Commercial Service and the State of Illinois. The 142 domestic exhibitors were joined by international exhibitors from countries such as Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Indonesia and South Africa, further emphasizing the international significance of MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2014.
The concurrently held three-day conference and the two-day medical forum complemented the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2014 exhibits. Renowned international speakers from the industry presented new discoveries in the areas of healthcare and medical technology.
Important local partners and partner associations contributed to the success of the MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2014, including the Association of Diagnostic Manufacturers of India (ADMI), the Medical Surgical and Healthcare Industry Trade Association (MSAHITA), the Indian Association of Sports Medicine and the Indian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Further cooperation partners included Indian hospitals such as Fortis Healthcare Limited and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals.
International associations and institutions also supported the trade fair, including the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council (MREPC), the China Chamber Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCMHPIE), the Korea Medical Devices Industrial Cooperative Association (KMDICA), Ubi France, the Shenzhen Association of Medical Devices (SAMD), Spectaris, the German Healthcare Export Group (GHE) as well as the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) and the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology.
