Shepard Donates $75,000 to CEIR to Fund Vital Research
Shepard Exposition Services, a leading events industry general service contractors, has made a $75,000 donation to the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR). CEIR was formed in 1978 (as the Trade Show Bureau) to justify the value and benefits of exhibitions to marketers, exhibitors, and attendees.
"While Shepard has relied upon CEIR's strategic reports on trends and industry predictions for the past 18 years, this crucial data has become even more valuable to organizers in recent years," said Shepard Vice President of Sales Richard Maples. "We encourage everyone in the industry to participate and support this integral organization, participate in the research and take advantage of the results."
CEIR President & CEO Brian Casey said, "We are pleased to see Shepard's willingness to help underwrite CEIR's Index. In addition to the donation, Shepard's support of CEIR and funding the research is most welcomed."
CEIR's board of directors-which includes representatives from eight industry associations-provides guidance on areas of concern to various constituencies. A similarly diverse group of individuals serve on CEIR's research committee, which reviews each study from design to issuance of the final report.
The resulting research offers insight into such areas as planning exhibit strategies, deciding which event to attend and how much to spend, training booth staff, integrating exhibit marketing with other marketing tools, and attracting new customers.
