EXHIBITOR Magazine’s 2014 Rental/Refurb Survey Confirms Exhibit Ownership Remains Status Quo
Exhibitor Media Group, the award-winning leader in trade show and corporate event marketing education, today announced the results of EXHIBITOR magazine's 2014 Rental/Refurb Survey, which queried more than 100 marketing professionals about their exhibit properties.
The results confirm that exhibit ownership is still the status quo, with 88 percent of respondents owning at least one exhibit which is, on average, approximately four years old. Just over one-third of exhibit managers plan to build a new custom exhibit in the next twelve months.
With an average expected lifespan of about five years, many exhibits are ready to be replaced or refurbished. Although nearly half of the respondents have never refurbished an exhibit in the past, 87 percent who have say the refurbishment was worth the investment.
Exhibit rental is recognized as a viable option. Nearly half have experience renting exhibits for use at trade shows, compared to just 28 percent in 2011. Three-fourths of respondents understand their benefits, but only one-fourth have taken advantage of rental options in the past 12 months.
"Most renters prioritize criteria such as customization options, design, and price over floor plan, payment options, or vendor reputation when shopping for rental property," commented Travis Stanton, editor, EXHIBITOR magazine. "And while custom-rental options are still a somewhat new phenomenon in the industry, 57 percent of respondents are familiar with the benefits, and more than one-third have considered custom rentals for their own trade show programs."
Results from the survey will be published in the June 2014 issue of EXHIBITOR magazine.
