Convention Data Services Business Leaders Honored
Mac McCarthy and Cheryl Groves, Registration Managers for Cape Cod-based Convention Data Services (CDS), have just been honored and recognized as recipients of the 2014 Cape & Plymouth Business 40 Under 40 Awards. The award program honors distinguished business people under the age of 40 who have made a mark in the region at an extraordinarily young age. Mac and Cheryl were chosen as top young business leaders who excel in their industry, show dynamic leadership and volunteer in the community.
Mac McCarthy, age 31, holds a B.A. in Communications/Visual Media. He began his career with Convention Data Services in 2008 and was promoted to his current position of Registration Manager in 2011. Recently he was selected to work on the portfolio of events for one of the company’s largest clients. Mac believes in giving back to the community and volunteers his time serving lunch at Saturday’s/Sunday’s Bread in Boston and wrapping and delivering presents at My Brother’s Keeper in Easton.
Cheryl Groves, age 35, began her career at Convention Data Services in 2005 in the Customer Service Contact Center and from there was promoted to the Quality Assurance Department. She was promoted again to her current position of Registration Manager to work with CDS clients and their events. She believes that her experience has given her a unique understanding of the operations of the company and what each client needs to produce a successful event. Volunteering is a priority for Cheryl who manages the marketing and online customer relations for Buzzards Play Productions. Additionally, she provides web design and participates in fundraising for the Falmouth Little League.
“Our CDS team is pleased and very proud to have two employees honored this year as recipients of the Cape & Plymouth Business 40 Under 40 Awards. Mac and Cheryl are great examples of young professionals with dynamic leadership qualities. We appreciate their positive contributions to our company and to the community,” says John Kimball, President and CEO, Convention Data Services.
