2D2C Inc and SafePlug Distribution Products Release the SafePlug Smart Stringer
9/4/2014
2D2C Inc. and SafePlug Distribution Products launched the “SafePlug Smart Stringer”, a breakthrough in safe and efficient electrical power distribution for temporary power at tradeshows, conferences and events. SafePlug Distribution Products, a company started by former GM of GES electrical operations Joel Golbin, sells the SafePlug Smart Stringer that uses 2D2C’s patented safety and controlled Access-to-Energy (A2E) technology. The new stringer protects exhibitor equipment from power surges and faulty wires, includes A2E Tamper Resistant features that electronically protect exhibitors from shocks and circuit overloads, and significantly reduces trade show electrical administration and operation costs.

The SafePlug Smart Stringer safely delivers electricity to only those exhibitors who have paid for electrical service and limits them to the level purchased (e.g. 500W, 1000W, 1500W). Upgrades are simple and can be administered by non-electrical staff. Additionally, this innovative stringer absorbs electrical surges, and isolates bad power from mis-wiring or faults to help prevent damage to exhibitor computers, lights and equipment.

"We are ecstatic to have Joel working with us to create a safer stringer; taking what SafePlug already does for electrical safety in homes and businesses and optimizing it for convention and event center applications," said Jamie Gallant, Business Development Manager at 2D2C Inc. “I’ve been to a lot of trade shows and seen demo equipment burned up. Applying SafePlug to this industry and packaging it right in the stringer will make both exhibitors and administrators safer and happier."

Joel Golbin, a veteran of the tradeshow electrical services industry for over 20 years said, "When I first saw this technology I immediately recognized the need for these safety features on the show floor. Whether it’s small exhibitions with 10 tables or something huge like a ‘CES’ that I’ve worked many times, there are safety issues and electrical hazards that SafePlug addresses. I pushed them to add industry specific features for simplifying administration and deployment of electrical services, and I know from my own experiences that the resulting technology is a game changer." Joel added that SafePlug technology shouldn’t be limited to a few big players in the market, saying, "I am glad to play a part in making this innovation possible, and I look forward to sharing SafePlug with the whole industry's electrical service engineers and administrators.”

SafePlug Distribution Products is currently taking orders and will begin shipping the new SafePlug Smart Stringer with tradeshow-friendly flat cable this month. They expect to offer a round-cable version before the end of the year.
