Derse Donates $30K in Creative Design and Event Production to Operation Gratitude

Derse, the complete face-to-face marketing company, has donated $30K in creative design and event production to rebrand Operation Gratitude.

Operation Gratitude—the largest nonprofit in the nation to ship military care packages—celebrated the grand opening of their new Chatsworth, California, headquarters on March 19, 2016. In addition, they announced that they’ll be taking their care package assembly events on the road to targeted markets to engage and energize their base of 50 thousand volunteers nationwide.

“We’re proud to support those that risk their lives to keep us safe and allow for our freedom of speech,” said Bill Haney, Derse Chairman. “The experience gives us the ability to directly support our military and do our part.”

Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude needed a cohesive brand statement throughout all of their volunteer events that would reinforce excitement and positive feelings for volunteers. Inspired by the “standard issue” gear provided to each member of the United States Armed Forces, Derse designed all rebranding elements to be as durable, modular, scalable and uniform as that carried by a solider. The graphics also represent the authentic, patriotic spirit of Operation Gratitude and remind volunteers of the troops they are helping. The following creative assets were revealed at the grand opening:
  • Modular assembly line units with wayfinding and box folding stations
  • Stage with signage and props
  • Shipping crates
  • Big Red Button interactive package counters
  • Overall branding, language, signage and graphics
The grand opening of Operation Gratitude’s new 35K-square-foot “forward operating base” drew more than 1,500 volunteers, old and young, to assemble a record of:
  • 5,275 New Recruit Care Packages
  • 4,000 First Responder Kit quality control checks
  • 8,000 Battalion Buddy (stuffed animals for children of troops) quality control checks
  • 2,500 Gratitude Medallions for new military recruits
  • 440 Paracord Survival Bracelets
In addition to the donated creative efforts, Derse employees specifically contributed the following materials in the days leading up to the event:
  • 300 Thank You Letters
  • 200 Paracord Survival Bracelets
  • 200 Beanie Babies for children of troops
