Lions Festivals, Managed by i2i Events Group, Gears Up for the 59th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, now in its 59th year, is the world’s largest and most prestigious global annual awards, celebrating creative excellence in advertising and communications.
With 15 Awards categories, judged by 15 juries of world-class thought leaders, the Festival in 2011 attracted almost 29,000 entries from all over the world with winners receiving the highly coveted Lion trophy, presented at four awards ceremonies. In addition to the Awards, over 10,000 advertisers and advertising and communication professionals from some 95 countries come to Cannes for a week of workshops, exhibitions, screenings, master classes and high-profile seminars by the industry’s global leaders, making Cannes Lions the networking and learning opportunity of the year.
Delegates to Cannes Lions 2012 will be able to hear presentations from over 200 of the most well-known names from the world of advertising and communications as well as politics, sports, music and entertainment, during the seven day learning program. Speakers include Sir Martin Sorrell, Sir John Hegarty and Dan Wieden as well as senior executives from Facebook, Time Warner Inc, Twitter, MTV, Virgin Media, Unilever, P&G and Johnson & Johnson amongst many others. From the world of sports, speakers include Lord Sebastian Coe, Nadia Comaneci and Ronaldo and from the entertainment world Ridley Scott, Forrest Whitaker, Mark Ronson and Debbie Harry also appear. And to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the foundation of Grupo ABC, the largest communications group in Latin America, President Bill Clinton will address delegates and deliver a keynote speech titled ‘How Advertising Can Help Build a Better World’.
