Blue Telescope Installs Interactive Activity for Brooklyn Hospital at Barclays Center

1/24/2013 - Blue Telescope, the interactive exhibit agency, has completed work on a permanent interactive installation promoting Brooklyn Hospital at the newly opened Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Utilizing gestural recognition technology, the interactive invites Barclays Center guests of all ages to participate in one of three physical activities:

** Jump For Joy – On an oversized screen, two players at a time see their outlines reflected back to them standing in front of Brooklyn brownstones in between animated children who twirl a jump rope. Players score points for successful jumps in this colorful activity.

** Shoot Some Hoops – On the same screen, players have the virtual ability to catch a basketball and make shots on a basketball hoop. Running totals are reflected showing the success rate of the shots taken.

** Take Flight – Players are prompted to flap their arms to begin a virtual flight over the Brooklyn Bridge and past other Brooklyn landmarks. The players’ speed is dictated by how quickly and consistently they flap their arms during the experience.

High scorers for all three activities are added to a lifetime leader board, which encourages friendly competition and repeat use. Promoting healthy behaviors through physical activity, the Brooklyn Hospital interactive installation is a fun and unique addition to the Barclays Center.
