EXHIBITOR2013 Gives Power to the Tweeple with a Twitter-based People's Choice Award
EXHIBITOR2013 attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite exhibit on the show floor via Twitter. "For the second consecutive year, we're offering attendees a fun way to participate in a People's Choice Award-style contest honoring the creative, innovative exhibits on the show floor," said Travis Stanton, editor of EXHIBITOR magazine. "But instead of old-school paper ballots, we've ushered the People's Choice concept into the 21st century by hosting the competition on Twitter. We hope the voting process will generate show-related buzz, and create some friendly competition in the exhibit hall."
Everyone is invited to vote up to three times per day. "You can spread your votes out over nine different exhibitors during the three days the show floor is open, or you can give all nine votes to the same exhibit," Stanton explained. "It's totally up to you, the Tweeple!"
To vote, simply send a tweet using both the show's official hashtag (#EXHIBITOR2013) and the Tweeple's Choice Award hashtag (#TCaward). Include the exhibiting company's name, along with why you think that exhibitor deserves the Tweeple's Choice Award. For example, you might tweet "My vote for the #EXHIBITOR2013 #TCaward goes to XYZ Corp. because I loved the live presentation and personalized promo items! Thanks XYZ!" or "ABC Inc. deserves the #EXHIBITOR2013 #TCaward because its booth staffers are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Best on the show floor!" Only votes cast using both hashtags (#EXHIBITOR2012 and #TCaward) will count toward an exhibitor's total. Retweets and duplicate tweets are not valid.
Voting begins when the exhibit hall opens at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18, and ends at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20. The winner will be announced at approximately 2:30 p.m. on March 20, and will receive the EXHIBITOR2013 Tweeple's Choice Award trophy (and bragging rights, of course). Plus, the winner will be honored via EXHIBITOR's Facebook page and Twitter feed, as well as the April issue of EXHIBITOR magazine.
