Showplans Records Revenue Increase of More than 20%
Showplans has seen a rise in revenue of more than 20% over the last year thanks to an increased marketing and PR spend to boost the company's brand equity alongside improved sales figures, a number of exclusive deals and the instant success of Showplanner, which made a splash upon its release in February. Showplans CEO Adam Jones says, “We have seen a steady year-on-year increase in turnover of around 10% since the company was founded in 2009, so this big step up is a clear sign that the quality of our design solutions is starting to make an impact in the industry.” The company will use the additional income to fund further product development.
It hasn’t been all plain sailing for the premium event supplier though, with three clients going into administration in the last year – The Eye Show, The Wine Festival Reading and The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. All three were launch shows, which highlights the potential risks of such a venture. Jones adds, “It’s always tough to see a show we’ve worked so hard for getting into difficulties, especially when we build a personal relationship with our clients. We are well aware of the risks of supporting launch shows as a contractor, but it’s something we are proud of and we will not stop doing it – we feel it is greatly important for us to play an active role in furthering the growth and variety that has made the UK events industry so strong.”
