EA Logistics Launches 'Delivered GrEAn' Carbon Offset Program

In response to industry trends and customer requests, EA Logistics has launched Delivered GrEAn, a free carbon offset program for tradeshow customers that utilizes the company’s domestic and international freight services.
'Every business is looking for green suppliers to help reduce their carbon footprint all along the supply chain,' says Mike Ellis, EA Logistics President. 'Our clients are concerned about the environmental impact of their tradeshow shipping, and we wanted to offer them an immediate and practical opt-in solution that doesn’t add any extra cost.'
Transportation is one of the leading sources of greenhouse gas emissions. For instance, a typical truckload shipped from New York City to Los Angeles generates an estimated 6.28 metric tons of CO2, contributing to global warming. Through Delivered GrEAn, EA Logistics computes emissions for each shipment(s) based on distance, weight and mode of transportation and offsets 100% of these emissions by purchasing carbon credits from Carbonfund.org, which then invests the funds in renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects.
After the shipment has been Delivered GrEAn, the shipper gets a receipt documenting the amount of CO2 that has been offset, which can be addressed to the client or the client’s customer. The program can be further tailored to fit the specific needs of booth builders, exhibitors, show management companies, general contractors and associations.
According to a recent report by EXHIBITOR magazine Group, 86% of exhibitors anticipate allocating a portion of their 2008 budget to green exhibiting options. 'Many green exhibiting measures involve extra effort and cost. The beauty of Delivered GrEAn is that it’s easy and free. It’s a painless way to do the right thing for your business and the environment,' says Ellis.
Businesses that take advantage of Delivered GrEAn can experience a number of potential business benefits. In an increasingly environmentally conscious business environment, the service helps differentiate EA’s clients from their competitors and can help them build business by meeting their clients’ CO2 reduction/mitigation targets. Because the service is transaction based, it reminds recipients of the shipper’s environmental commitment with each delivery.
In addition to providing carbon offsets, EA Logistics also works to reduce pollution by using bio-diesel fuels in its trucks and adopting other eco-friendly practices in its business. Thus working with EA Logistics also satisfies clients’ need to green their supply chain.
EA Logistics is a domestic and international freight forwarder with a stand-alone division specializing exclusively in tradeshow freight. The company provides service 24 / 7 / 365 via ground, air and ocean modes. EA Logistics handles transport for displays, provides official carrier support with on-site representation, offers complete warehousing services and delivers a full menu of tradeshow-specific freight solutions.
