Hood Exhibits' NanaWall Exhibit for 2010 AIA National Convention Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright

7/1/2010 - hood exhibits took a page from the architectural bible of Frank Lloyd Wright for this year’s 2010 Architect Institute Association’s (AIA) National Convention in Miami. The resulting design was classic Wrightian excellence executed as only hood exhibits could.

NanaWall approached hood exhibits for a new tradeshow exhibit to showcase their latest product- an opening glass wall. The company’s goals were simple: display the new products in a solid environment that mimics a permanent building structure while infusing a distinctly architect-inspired design aesthetic.

Drawing from one of the best architects in modern history, hood exhibits’ design and engineering teams collaborated with Studio 1500 for three months to complete the exhibit. Since the exhibit featured brand new NanaWall products set to be unveiled at the show, the collaborative team had to work from product dimensions alone, using precision engineering techniques to custom-display NanaWall’s creations.

The key feature of the new NanaWall system is its effortless movement, so hood exhibits created a structural base strong enough to replicate a permanent building structure that could support the open glass walls. NanaWall’s Trade Show Manager, April Keene, had more than glowing words for the exhibit. “Hood’s design recalls Frank Lloyd Wright in a perfect statement to our prime demographic: architects. It’s amazing how the beautiful, fine lined structure manages to be as solid as a rock, yet still look beautiful and assemble in only 3 days. All we could say when we first saw it was ‘Wow.’ Hood really hit a home run for us with this booth.”

Exhibit attendees swarmed the NanaWall exhibit, quickly making it one of the most successful and most visited at AIA 2010. Dave Hood, CEO of hood exhibits, shared in Keene’s elation, commenting, “The end result was an architectural marvel that simulated a real-life building environment to showcase our client’s product at its best. We could not have envisioned a better outcome for our client.”
