Molly Johnson, Wilmington and Beaches CVB Director of Convention Sales, Receives Hall of Fame Award from MPI – Carolinas Chapter
The Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau [CVB] is pleased to announce that Molly Johnson, Director of Convention Sales, is the 2018 recipient of Meeting Professionals International—Carolinas Chapter [MPI-CC] prestigious Hall of Fame Award.
The Hall of Fame Award recognizes a long-standing MPI-CC member who has continually contributed to the chapter with their ongoing commitment and a strong sense of leadership and volunteerism. The recipient exemplifies professionalism, dedication and overall excellence in the chapter, the meetings industry, and in the community in which they serve.
Molly received the award at the association’s 2018 annual meeting which was held May 16-17 at the Hotel Ballast, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Wilmington. Meeting Professionals International – Carolinas Chapter, established in 1984, is recognized as one of the largest chapters globally with 400+ members representing over $500 million in annual economic spend.
With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry ranging from operations to sales, Molly Johnson joined the Wilmington and Beaches CVB in 2015. Professional memberships include: Meeting Professionals International–Carolinas Chapter since 2002, serving as Chapter President in 2010-2011. She currently serves on the MPI Global Chapter & Membership Advisory Council and is chair of MPI-CC’s Meeting Planning Committee. In 2014 Molly was recognized as Supplier of the Year and in 2017 she was awarded the MPI-CC President’s Award. Molly is also a member and current president of the Wilmington Area Hospitality Association [WAHA].
