Pet Industry to Gather at 15th Annual Global Pet Expo, March 20-22, 2019
The 14th Annual Global Pet Expo was THE event of the year where the pet industry met All Under One Roof to do business. The unprecedented energy on the Show Floor coupled with impressive engagement at onsite events was remarkable, further solidifying Global Pet Expo as the must-attend, premier industry event. The Show took place in March 2018 and featured 1,164 exhibitors, 3,523 booths sold, covering 352,300 net square feet of exhibit space—nearly 10,000 feet larger than the 2017 Show. 6,508 qualified buyers, 2,100 of which were first-time buyers, representing 79 countries around the world were in attendance.
The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) will present the premier industry event, Global Pet Expo, on March 20-22, 2019 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Fla.
As the first pet industry trade show of 2019, Global Pet Expo gives attendees the latest and greatest the industry has to offer. It’s an amazing opportunity for qualified buyers and media to see first-hand all the hottest and newest pet products before they hit store shelves. A qualified buyer attending Global Pet Expo works for an established business with a proven record of purchasing pet products from a manufacturer or distributor in quantity for resale to the consumer. Special sections including Boutique, Natural Pet, Everything Aquatic and What’s New! help attendees more easily navigate the Show Floor. And as international participation continues to grow, the 2019 Show will once again feature country-specific pavilions, providing participating country delegations their own dedicated space on the exhibit floor.
Companies launching new products can highlight them in the popular New Products Showcase, where buyers and media have the opportunity to preview all the newest products hitting the industry in one convenient location. The 30,000-square foot space on the Show Floor is set aside to recognize the year's best creative efforts in New Product and Point-of-Purchase Displays. With nearly 1,000 entries submitted in 2018, this is the largest new products showcase at any pet product industry trade show in the world. The New Products Showcase “Best in Show” awards are the most coveted awards given in the industry. Winners will be announced at the Ninth Annual New Products Showcase Awards presentation. In order to be eligible to win, products must be entered in the New Products Showcase.
Attendees can also attend educational seminars at the 2019 Global Pet Expo Academy. Managed by PIDA, the 2018 seminar lineup featured 20 different speakers offering 35 hours of retailer education on topics such as social media marketing, competing with online retailers, merchandising tips, customer service solutions and the hottest topics in employment law. In 2018, the Academy expanded to include reformatted Mini-Sessions held in the New Products Showcase and aquatic-focused seminars held in the Aquatic Lounge. The seminars attracted a record 1,800 attendees.
A media-exclusive press conference will take place onsite on Thursday, March 21, 2019, where 2018 pet industry spending figures and 2019 projections will be announced. Information about the 2019-2020 APPA National Pet Owners Survey, which reveals consumer behavior and ownership trends in the U.S., will also be released.
The tremendous success of the continuously growing Global Pet Expo has been recognized by the trade show industry. Trade Show Executive magazine (TSE) ranked Global Pet Expo #61 on their exclusive “Gold 100” list. This honor recognized Global Pet Expo as one of the 100 largest shows that “Set The Gold Standard” for the trade show industry, exceeding thousands of others in exhibit space, exhibiting companies and attendance. Global Pet Expo is also ranked #48 in TSE’s Fastest 50 for fastest growing trade shows and was honored at the prestigious Trade Show News Network (TSNN) Awards as a Top 25 Fastest-Growing Show in net square footage.
