EXHIBITOR Celebrates Milestone with its 600th Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM)
EXHIBITOR magazine, the award-winning leader in trade show and corporate event marketing education, announces its Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) program has reached an exciting new milestone.
On July 5, 2018, with the certification of Ga Young Jung, CTSM, the CTSM program has now graduated a total of 600 Certified Trade Show Marketers, in affiliation with Northern Illinois University Outreach.
“The CTSM program has turned out to be the perfect next step to help me develop my career as a marketing specialist in the trade show industry," said Ga Young Jung, whose nickname is Grace. "The program has instilled a greater passion in me for both my work and the trade show marketing field. It has helped provide me with the confidence I need to take my career to the next level.”
Grace has a unique international background. She was born in South Korea, spent most of her adolescence in New Zealand and attended college in the United States. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Maryland. During her junior year she was an assistant director for the Maryland Learning Center, sustaining after-school programs and providing services to over 100 students and their parents. After graduation she traveled abroad for a year to China, Japan and Hong Kong to experience other cultures and to plan her future. Grace has also worked as a marketing coordinator at Frozen Yogurt USA and later with AARP’s National Event Technology Pavilion. She currently serves as trade show manager for a startup fashion company called BKLYN MAX. She helped them launch their new products at WWDMAGIC in Las Vegas, February 2017.
The CTSM program covers a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills for trade show and corporate event marketers. Topics include: Measurement & Analytics, Planning & Execution, Marketing & Sales, Management & Leadership, Global Exhibit Marketing, Exhibits, Experiences & Events, and Personal & Career. The 28-session core curriculum includes five electives and equals 42 hours of classroom study.
Although rigorous and challenging, candidates are free to move through the program at their own pace. Upon completion of the coursework, candidates take a comprehensive exam and write an applied learning portfolio. Candidates typically take two to three years to receive their CTSM credentials. According to a recent survey from EXHIBITOR magazine, industry professionals earning certification enjoy salaries averaging 18% higher than their acronym-free peers.
CTSM graduates also have the option of adding onto their core certification at four different levels of upgrades: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. More than 3,200 trade show and corporate event marketing professionals are currently enrolled in CTSM, and 236 grads are working on Bronze, Silver, and Gold certification upgrades. 16 CTSM graduates have now achieved Diamond Level certification.
The Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) Program, which is the only industry university-affiliated certification program, serves organizations and individuals whose objective is to produce high-performance trade show and event marketing programs with measurable bottom-line results. The CTSM designation reflects adherence to the highest educational standards of trade show and event marketing. For more information, go to www.CTSM.com.
