Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau Welcomes Wendy Norgren as Regional Sales Executive
The Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCCVB) has appointed Wendy Norgren as Regional Sales Executive. Norgren will serve the MCCVB in the Northeast region of the United States, Eastern Canada and the European group market.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wendy to the team,” says Mark McMinn, VP of Group Sales and Services at the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Her talent and experience in our industry are a winning combination - particular in the Northeast region where there is growing interest in our destination.”
Hiring Norgren is one more step in MCCVB positioning Monterey County for growth in long haul markets and follows recent air service growth from both United Airlines and American Airlines with non-stop flights to the destination from Denver and Dallas, respectively.
“I'm delighted to join the incredible team at the MCCVB and bring clients to one of California’s most extraordinary meetings destinations. There are many clients who are looking for the kind of inspired experiences unique to Monterey County and I’m going to help them find them” says Norgren.
Prior to joining the MCCVB, Norgren was the Regional Sales Manager for the Fairmont Mayakoba for the East Coast. In her four years with the company, Norgren successfully brought countless new clients to the resort and destination.
Norgren has been in the hospitality and tourism industry for more than 12 years. During that time, she has worn many hats including meeting planner, resort sales manager, and now full circle representing our amazing destination for the CVB. Norgren previously represented Caesars Entertainment for their hotels in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She began her new role with MCCVB in October.
Representing all of Monterey County, the MCCVB’s mission is to grow the tourism industry for the destination through marketing and sales initiatives. The destination is currently experiencing an influx of investment in property renovations and additions including the recent $60 million renovation of the Monterey Conference Center, which reopened in early 2018.
