Church House Invests in New Digital Microphone System

The Westminster event venue has installed a Sennheiser system with 30 digital microphones to further enhance audio quality for large conferences and events.

The Assembly Hall, with its capacity of 600, now offers 8 units, whilst the four other large rooms -the Hoare Memorial Hall, Harvey Goodwin Suite, Bishop Partridge Hall and Convocation Hall - are fitted with 4 units each. Additionally, 4-way and 2-way mobile racks are also available in any of the other rooms within the central London venue.

The microphone system offers a secure encrypted connection, an often essential element of corporate events when company information is to be discussed behind closed doors. Another benefit for event organisers is that the new microphones experience less interference. The system automatically manages and anticipates potential interferences by avoiding it completely and then switching to a problem-free channel.

Conference organisers can also expect a longer battery life from the microphones which are now able to last a whole day without having to be charged. The hand-held microphones are lightweight and have a much bigger pick-up range, making them ideal for question-and-answer sessions which requires audience participation and subsequently delivers a much better delegate experience in terms of audio quality. Connected to a network, the microphones are remotely controlled with cockpit software by the venue’s in-house AV team of technicians.

Church House Westminster

One of the first events to use the new microphone system was hosted by the Food Foundation for the launch of the Children’s Future Food Inquiry final report on the 25th April 2019 in the Assembly Hall of Church House. Speakers at the #Right2Food event included Inquiry Ambassador, Dame Emma Thompson as well as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Children and Families, Nadhim Zahawi, and Inquiry co-chair, Dr Philippa Whitford MP.
