Greater Columbus Convention Center Welcomes more than 10,000 from Green Industry for AmericanHort's Cultivate’19 on July 13-16
7/11/2019
Combine more than 650 exhibitors, 10,000 horticulture industry professionals, an eight-acre trade show, four days of educational opportunities and the SMG-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC), and the result is AmericanHort’s Cultivate’19 from July 13-16.

“Celebrating our 90th anniversary this year, we’re excited to host Cultivate’19 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and to offer our attendees a wide variety of professional development sessions, workshops and exhibits showcasing the newest products and trends in the horticulture industry,” said AmericanHort President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Fisher. “As the industry’s premier trade show and convention, Cultivate continues to provide opportunities for businesses and individuals to perform better, grow faster and prepare for the future.”

Cultivate is known for booking the entire convention center, and according to Trade Show News Network, being one of the Top 200 trade shows in the country. The event typically attracts more than 10,000 horticulture professionals representing all states and about 30 foreign countries.

Kevin Brown, a motivational speaker and creator of The Hero Effect, will be the Morning Jolt keynote speaker on July 14. He will focus upon the importance of showing up every day and making a positive difference, including the themes that heroes help people -- with no strings attached, create an exceptional experience, take responsibility and live and work with optimism.

The trade show will be open Sunday, July 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16.

Special activities include workshops such as CareerUp – Setting You UP for Future Success, OSU Cultivar Trials, tours of Franklin Park Conservatory and other locations, as well as educational tracks in business plus, garden retail, generation next, greenhouse, interior plantscape, landscape, nursery, pesticide recertification and research. Stages with continuous activity include the Cultivate Live! Stage, Knowledge Center Stage and Live for Growers Stage.

Fitness enthusiasts will participate in the fourth annual Flower Run 5K at Wolfe Park on July 14.

The International Plantscape Awards & Hall of Fame Induction will be Sunday, July 14 from 6-9 p.m., followed on Monday, July 15 at 5 p.m. by the Medal of Excellence Awards.

“Cultivate is the largest all-industry trade show and conference for the horticulture industry,” said GCCC General Manager John R. Page. “We’ve had the pleasure of annually hosting the event for more than 30 years and seeing its growth correspond with that of our facility and city.”
