Upper Midwest EDPA's 50th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $2,000 for Bemidji State University Exhibit Design Scholarships
The Upper Midwest Chapter of The Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) announces that its 50th Annual Golf Tournament held on Monday, August 5th at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Woodbury, MN, has successfully raised $2,000 from golfers and sponsors to help fund scholarships for exhibit design students in Bemidji State University's Technology, Art & Design Department.
"We are proud to help raise money that will provide scholarships for exhibit design students at Bemidji State," said Jennifer Hermanson, President, UMEDPA. "Many of these students will go on to work for UMEDPA member companies, so it is very rewarding to help in the early stages of their careers in the exhibit design industry."
The Bemidji State program educates exhibit designers pursuing careers at companies producing trade show exhibits and events, and it serves as the only undergraduate degree in exhibit design in the U.S.
“We are so thankful to UMEDPA for this contribution to our students,” said Dr. Bonnie Higgins, Professor and Department Chair, Bemidji State University. "These scholarships will have a big impact on the individual educational and professional lives of BSU students."
"Our thanks to this year's golf tournament sponsors, whose generosity has helped to make these scholarships become a reality," said Randy Acker, president & COO of Exhibitor Media Group and Adjunct Professor, BSU. "They truly make a difference for the students pursuing careers in our industry."
