EXHIBITOR Magazine Commemorates EDPA's Legacy in the Trade Show and Experiential Industry with Special 65-year Anniversary Edition
EXHIBITOR Magazine and the Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) have teamed up to commemorate EDPA’s 65-year legacy and continued influence in the trade show and experiential industry with the publication of The Official EDPA 65-Year Anniversary Edition Magazine that debuted as a special supplement within the October issue of EXHIBITOR.
EDPA represents more than 300 companies across 18 countries. In its 65 years, EDPA has altered its name and transformed its offerings, but what hasn’t changed is its commitment to advancing the cause of face-to-face marketing.
“EDPA is excited to have partnered with EXHIBITOR to honor the 65-year history of EDPA and its foundation," said Dasher Lowe, EDPA Executive Director. "We are proud of EDPA’s history and list of accomplishments, and want to share and celebrate with our members and the industry as a whole."
“This special supplement tells the story of the EDPA’s origins and elaborates on how the association continues to impact the trade show industry 65 years later,” said Travis Stanton, editor of EXHIBITOR. “For those familiar with EDPA, it’s a walk down memory lane. For others who have not yet been introduced to the association, it’s a comprehensive overview of everything from its many regional chapters and charitable foundation to its annual events and advocacy on Capitol Hill.”
Founded in 1954 by a progressive group of individuals within the exhibit and design industry who wanted to grow relationships and form new partnerships, EDPA mostly comprised entrepreneurial exhibit company owners. Many started out as carpenters or designers, and few had formal business training. Fortunately, the industry grew quickly, and so did these companies. Over the years, EDPA's service offerings have changed just as quickly as the industry has evolved.
Today, EDPA members combine marketing, design, and production leadership to help organizations create effective face-to-face customer experiences and environments for trade shows, events, corporate environments, museums, and more. EDPA’s mission remains focused on advancing the interests of its members. Each year, the association drives the industry forward through research, networking and education, advocacy, and good works.
