Stephanie Pheneger Named EDPA Designer of the Year
The Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) recently recognized Stephanie Pheneger as the recipient of the 2019 Michael R Wescott Designer of the Year. The announcement was made at EDPA’s annual conference, ACCESS held in Tuscon AZ in early December.
Thousands of designers create exhibits each year, but only one is selected as the Designer of the Year. Pheneger was selected based on her passion for the design industry, her creativity, customer engagement and her desire to assist our industry’s next generation of designers.
Pheneger is a 2011 graduate from the exhibit design program at Bemidji State University, one of the two university programs that EDPA supports via their University Affiliation program. Stephanie commented, “I am so honored to have received this award and commend EDPA for supporting the program at Bemidji State. While in the program many industry veterans shared their knowledge, which gave me a head start in understanding the trade show and event industry. They are the reason I enjoy giving back and helping those who are seeking a career in design.”
Randal Acker, President of EXHIBITOR Media Group and Adjunct faculty at BSU adds, “Stephanie was a standout student at BSU, has made a difference for a number of interns and young designers and it is no surprise to me that she would receive this honor.” Pheneger was the 2011 recipient of the EXHIBITOR Media Group Students Achievement Award and an active participant in industry events during her years at BSU.
Founded in 1954, the Experiential Designers & Producers Association (EDPA) is recognized internationally and serves thousands of professional members representing more than 300 corporations across 18 countries.
