By 2024, GM surmised, we would live in lunar colonies, Antarctic outposts, and even undersea resorts, one of whose multitentacled residents is shown here. Atomic-powered submarines would reach these deep-sea destinations 10,000 feet beneath the surface, where men would mine precious minerals while a privileged few vacationed in the Hotel Atlantis.
