9/16/2021
EXHIBITOR Magazine is proud to announce Elisa Mackie, Trade Show Specialist from Conover, North Carolina, as the first recipient of the newly established Joe Ries CTSM Educational Grant.
Mackie serves as a trade show specialist with more than twenty years of telecommunications industry experience with demonstrated ability to manage trade shows and events, marketing communications and business development.
"I would like to thank EXHIBITOR for awarding me the Joe Ries Educational Grant," said Mackie. "As the first recipient, I am honored to receive this opportunity which will allow me to grow both professionally and personally."
"Our congratulations to Elisa for being the first recipient of the Joe Ries CTSM Educational Grant," said Janice Nelson, CTSM Executive Advisor for the Certified Trade Show Marketer program. "We are so excited for her to begin her CTSM journey."
Named in honor of Joe Ries, the gentleman who put his heart into the well-being of the CTSM program for over 20 years as its Academic Advisor, The Joe Ries Educational Grant is awarded to one new CTSM candidate each year. Joe was passionate about maintaining the integrity of the program and cared deeply for its leaders, candidates and graduates. He was a strong encourager for all.
The Joe Ries Educational Grant winner may complete their sessions at the annual EXHIBITORLIVE conference to be held October 31 - November 3, 2021, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, EXHIBITORFastTrak regional conferences, and through live online EXHIBITOR eTrak sessions. This grant is available for new enrollees in the program who have all, or most, of their sessions left to complete. It will cover the full cost of certification, including session fees, exam registration, and portfolio registration.
The CTSM designation is awarded by EXHIBITOR in affiliation with Northern Illinois University Outreach and reflects adherence to the highest educational standards of trade show and event marketing. The CTSM program covers a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills for trade show and corporate event marketers.
The CTSM core curriculum includes 23 required sessions and 7.5 hours of elective sessions for a total 42 hours of classroom study. Topics include: Measurement & Analytics, Planning & Execution, Marketing & Sales, Management & Leadership, Global Exhibit Marketing, Exhibits, Experiences & Events, and Personal & Career. Upon completion of the coursework, candidates take a comprehensive exam and write an applied learning portfolio. Currently there are more than 4,000 candidates enrolled in the program.
