All-Earth Ecobot Challenge Recognizes Excalibur Exhibits with 2015 Leadership Award

Excalibur Exhibits is proud to announce that they were recently recognized with a leadership award from The Education Foundation of Harris County for their support of the All-Earth EcoBot Challenge. For the second year in a row, Excalibur Exhibits donated the fabrication of 100 tables for the competing teams.
The All-Earth EcoBot Challenge is an innovative engineering competition that engages 5th through 8th grade students in complex problem-solving challenges and introduces advanced physics and math concepts through creative learning. Students build and program robots while formulating solutions to real-world missions, demonstrating the relevance and applicability of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects. The All Earth EcoBot Challenge was created in 2009 and is funded through the Education Foundation of Harris County and corporate sponsors.
“This is an incredible event and wonderful opportunity for students to learn to think outside the box and build their self-confidence,” said Peggy Swords, president of Excalibur Exhibits. “The All Earth EcoBot Challenge has become a pet project of sorts. Our employees are enthusiastic about it for many reasons, but one of the biggest is because it teaches kids resilience. If the robot doesn’t work at first, the kids have to rethink their approach and come at it from another angle. Plus they have to do it as a part of a team. That’s a real-world skill that will take them far when they enter the workforce one day. We really do support the All Earth EcoBot Challenge’s mission. The fact that they presented us with a Leadership Award is just icing on the cake.”
