Viparis and Bureau Veritas Jointly Preparing Health Safety Guidelines for Event Venues

5/6/2020

Viparis - the European leader in hosting large-scale events, is helping France get back to business.

As part of this effort, Viparis is drawing up health safety guidelines for event venues. This is a top priority for employees, event organisers, exhibitors, service providers and visitors alike. Every point of contact between Viparis and its stakeholders has been identified to define a fully comprehensive safety protocol.

As a trusted third party, Bureau Veritas will help validate these guidelines, based on the latest recommendations of health authorities. Audits of venues will be conducted, which may lead to certification recognised by Bureau Veritas.

The Hygien Security Environment label, entitled "SAFE V", were developed by Viparis and are in line with initiatives taken by other tourism industry stakeholders, such as Viparis's partners within the Alliance Tourisme. They will also be proposed as a means to support commitments made by the business tourism sector as part of the charter being drafted by Unimev.

"We are preparing for the recovery and the health safety issues that this involves. Viparis's venues are the first to offer a comprehensive, validated health safety approach." Pablo Nakhlé Cerruti, CEO, Viparis

"As a leading player in risk management for nearly 200 years, we fully stand behind Viparis in its willingness to resume activity quickly and under the best possible conditions regarding health safety. This new initiative is an integral part of our "Restart Business" strategy, designed to help companies and public venues as they get back to business." Jacques Pommeraud, Executive Vice-President, France & Africa and Government Services, Bureau Veritas

Viparis's SAFE V guidelines are based on five sets of measures:
  1. General measures: appointment of a COVID manager and one contact person per venue; specific commitments by the Management Committee relating to monitoring the recovery
  2. Venue-specific measures: preparation of plans concerning cleaning, safety, deliveries adapted to each space (entrances, rest areas, washrooms, etc.); procedures to follow in case of suspected cases of COVID-19
  3. Employee measures: training, provision of PPE and ensuring it is worn properly, implementation of protective measures, cleaning and disinfection of premises
  4. Measures concerning service providers: creation of a charter for providers that have permanent staff at our sites, as well as recommendations for those that offer less regular services
  5. Measures concerning organisers and exhibitors: definition of appropriate procedures, counting and filtering of visitors, organisation of simultaneous events
