Britten Inc.'s Soccer Ball Activation Brings Guinness World Record Attempt to Boston Harbor Ahead of FIFA World Cup

6/8/2026

Britten Inc. served as the event production company for the Massachusetts Port Authority's "World's Largest Soccer Ball" activation, helping bring a Guinness World Record-attempt display to life in partnership with Massachusetts Port Authority.

The activation will run June 12-18, 2026, aligning with the kickoff of the FIFA World Cup and the seven tournament matches hosted in the Boston area. A public Community Day will take place on June 13, offering residents and visitors a closer look at the installation.

The Guinness World Record-breaking component was constructed in Brunswick, Ohio, at the Inflatable Images facility before being transported to the East Coast. The oversized soccer ball was ultimately installed along Boston Harbor, selected for its high visibility to both local residents and incoming visitors-including passengers arriving at Boston Logan International Airport.

The activation reflects a broader celebration of the global tournament and the region's role as a host city. As organizers noted, the concept embraces the excitement of the World Cup and the spirit of breaking boundaries-an approach aligned with Britten Inc.'s philosophy of pushing creative and production limits while delivering large-scale, world-class experiential work. Breaking records & pushing the limit is what Britten has been all about since 1985. As a full-service event fabricator, Britten says "yes" to the projects that seem impossible, and bring the biggest, boldest activations to life.
