Visitors to the pavilion embark on a sensory journey through the Baltic region, discovering its nature, culture, and traditions, as well as innovative solutions from Latvia and Lithuania for a better future. The We Are One concept emphasizes the understanding that everyone is part of this planet, which is both a privilege and a responsibility to protect it for future generations.
To draw attention to this, the pavilion's centerpiece is a unique installation — an interactive glass wall offering a respite from the fast-paced digital world. Named Kizuna, which translates from Japanese as a close, emotional bond, the wall highlights the connection between people and their relationship with nature, other individuals, communities, and nations. The wall's unique technology creates a condensation effect, allowing visitors to leave messages on its surface. The messages disappear within a few minutes, prompting reflection on individual actions and their impact on the planet.
Entrance Experience Smart glass small screens display meaningful words in four languages, evoking unity and resembling traditional Japanese shoji architecture.
Audiovisual Storytelling Real-life stories from Latvians and Lithuanians are told via short audiovisuals, communicating the three main pavilion themes: people, nature, and technology.
Nature’s Pharmacy A display of ~300 Baltic meadow plants with medicinal properties showcase traditional knowledge and its relevance to modern wellness and biotechnologies.
Interactive Participation A tree-planting initiative connects digital participation with real-world afforestation in Latvia and Lithuania.
Sensory Immersion Natural scents and sounds from the Baltics enhance the visitor experience, deepening the emotional connection to the region.
Mascot The pavilion mascot, Barabi-chan (a friendly mushroom figure), symbolizes ecological interconnectedness and mushroom picking tradition in the Baltics.
