EXHIBITOR Magazine’s Charles Pappas Named Consultant for EXPO 2020

Charles Pappas, EXHIBITOR magazine Senior Writer and author of Flying Cars, Zombie Dogs, and Robot Overlords, will serve as consultant for EXPO 2020’s department of Visitor Experience.

“Through a combination of writing, speaking, and crafting experiences, the Expo organizers want me to bring a historical perspective to the attendee experience,” remarks Pappas. “This will mean taking two decades of research at EXHIBITOR on the 170 years of world’s fairs and expos and linking it to the present. I’ll help show Expo 2020’s expected 20 million visitors how the expositions have changed not just the course of history on a grand scale but also the everyday life of people like you and me.”

Expo 2020 Dubai will host the world for 6 months from October 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022. Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region. The theme of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, aims to host a World Expo that inspires people by showcasing the best examples of collaboration, innovation and cooperation from around the world.

“It’s an indescribable honor to be asked to participate in the event that’s been around since Queen Victoria, and brought us everything from TV to touchscreens, and Art Deco to biomorphic architecture,” says Pappas.
