Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex Launches New Websites Prioritizing Accessible User Experience

3/18/2026

RALEIGH N.C. – The Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex is proud to announce the launch of three newly redesigned websites. The Complex worked in partnership with Ablr, a leader in accessibility consulting, to ensure the new websites provide an experience that is welcoming and usable for all web users.

The new websites for the Raleigh Convention Center, Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts, and Red Hat Amphitheater are designed to make it easier for everyone planning or attending events and keep community members informed about what’s happening at the venues. With a strong focus on accessibility and user experience, the sites offer a seamless experience for all users with streamlined navigation, enhanced event and ticketing information, and accessibility features built into every page. A fully functional keyboard navigation, alternative text on all images, screen reader compatibility, and other best practices laid out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 Level AA are also featured on each site.

“Our new websites are just the latest step in our constant effort toward making our venues more accessible and welcoming to everyone” said Kerry Painter, Executive Director of The Complex. “Creating impactful moments for all our guests through world-class service is at the core of everything we do. We partnered with Ablr because we wanted to reach for a higher standard of accessibility on our websites that would offer an enhanced experience for all web users. We’re not content to just do enough to get by when it comes to something as critical as accessibility, we’re aiming for excellence and leadership in this space.”

“Our relationship with the Raleigh Convention Center, Red Hat Amphitheater, and the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts represents what accessibility leadership should look like” said Mike Iannelli, co-founder of Ablr. “These teams are not treating accessibility as an afterthought, but as a priority embedded into operations, planning, and guest experience. Together, we are committed to making North Carolina the most accessible state in the country, with Raleigh leading the way. The collaboration, openness to learning, and willingness to deploy consistent, scalable solutions ensures that all people can fully participate in the events and spaces that bring our communities together.”
