VisitMalta Highlights World-Class Hospitality with Successful Luxury & MICE Three City North America Roadshow
3/30/2026
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) recently concluded its North America Luxury and MICE Roadshow, showcasing the Mediterranean islands of Malta across New York, Chicago, and Toronto. The multi-city series brought together top-tier industry professionals spanning luxury leisure and business tourism, highlighting the destination’s distinctive positioning within the global Luxury landscape.
North America Representative, Michelle Buttigieg, commented, “With the launch of Delta’s nonstop flight from JFK to Malta on June 7, this roadshow comes at a key moment to elevate Malta’s visibility in North America. Through direct engagement with the luxury travel advisors and MICE professionals, we are strengthening partnerships that will be able to take advantage of this new non-stop service to the Maltese Islands that extends through October 23.”
Malta is not simply a destination, it is an experience defined by timeless elegance and emotional beauty. Across islands shaped by more than 8,500 years of history, golden limestone architecture glows in the Mediterranean light, while an atmosphere of effortless sophistication and genuine warmth creates an inspiring setting for meetings and conferences of the highest calibre.
As Alaine Ciantar, Director of VisitMalta Incentives & Meetings at the Malta Tourism Authority, notes, “Malta’s expanding portfolio of luxury properties reflects a new standard of refinement, one that blends unique hotels with carefully curated, deeply immersive experiences. From serene wellness rituals overlooking the sea to bespoke sustainable activities shaped by the island’s heritage and natural beauty, Malta offers a form of luxury that feels both emotionally elevated and profoundly memorable.”
Featuring the world-class gastronomy of the Maltese islands, all the events created an immersive setting for Luxury travel advisors, private sector partners, and MICE professionals to also experience authentic Maltese cuisine prepared by Maltese Executive Chef, Giovann Attard, complemented by interactive cocktail demonstrations from Eddie Bonello and Liam Ashton of Molecular Fusion.
VisitMalta is proud to work with many talented and passionate private sector partners who are committed to world-class hospitality. The roadshow was joined by a private sector delegation which included: Scott Duffy – Westin Dragonara Resort, Gintare Vasiliauskaite – Malta Marriott Resort & Spa; Dario Guljelmovic – SIT Malta; Neal Debono – ME Malta by Meliá; Andrew Strickland – The Phoenicia Malta; Grace El Khoury Tavanti – Rosselli - AX Privilege; Thomas Aguis Ferrante – Xara Collection; Jason Allan – Exclusively Malta; Martina Abela – Citrus
Malta’s momentum in the luxury travel and the global MICE landscape is further reinforced by the island's selection as host of the 2026 World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in Valletta, marking a significant milestone that underscores the destination’s growing leadership and influence within the global tourism sector.
Through continued investment in trade relationships and increased accessibility, Malta Tourism Authority aims to further accelerate growth from the North American market, welcoming a new wave of travelers seeking culturally rich and immersive experiences.
