IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 is Now a Certified Sustainable Event
7/8/2026
IAAPA Expo Europe, Europe's premier attractions and leisure industry event, is now a Certified Sustainable Event by Greentime, an internationally recognised driving force for sustainability in the events industry.
This approval confirms that the exhibition show floor, which will be open at Excel London from 22 to 24 September, has met all mandatory requirements and following an independent third-party review process achieved a total score of 76%.
The certification covers environmental, social, and governance aspects – from transport and waste management to working conditions, diversity, and financial sustainability.
Ylva Linder, Global Director of Sustainability, IAAPA: says “We are seeing sustainability become an increasingly important business topic across the attractions industry.
“For IAAPA Expo Europe, this certification reflects the work that has gone into strengthening the event across several areas. They include, for instance, promoting lower-emission travel options, using reusable modular shell scheme stands, improving accessibility measures, and creating opportunities for students and young professionals to attend. These are all small but important steps that contribute to a more sustainable expo.
"Having IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 approved as a Certified Sustainable Event by Greentime is an important milestone for IAAPA. I am proud of the collaboration and commitment that made this possible. Sustainability is not achieved by one person or one department, it requires many people working together, continuously looking for ways to improve.
"The certification reflects practical actions across environmental, social, and governance areas, and demonstrates our commitment to leading by example. We hope it shows that taking structured, practical action is possible and that certification can be a valuable tool for driving progress and continuous improvement across the industry."
