Inside the Qatar pavilion, guests rambled through a meandering passageway bordered by black-and-white graphics colored with projection mapping as if by a giant, invisible hand. One stretch spun the tale of Qatar's storied "Arabian Nights" past, then segued smoothly into the nation's oil-rich but forward-thinking present. In the Technologies of the Future area, a series of kiosks and massive wall-mounted screens displayed content about Qatar's efforts to produce renewable energies. The pavilion's last section, Human Energy is Our Focus, included a video tower positioned between a bank of four touchscreen monitors that sparkled with bolts of simulated energy to mime that very people power. On the touchscreens, guests selected their favorite approaches for making a Greener planet, including "Stop global warming," and "Spearhead innovation." As they chose, the floor danced with the decorative lacing of arabesques displayed in primary colors from wall-mounted fixtures.
