Are you interested in serving as a portfolio advisor?
Serving as an advisor is a volunteer commitment that supports CTSM candidates through a critical stage of the certification process. Advisors may work with a candidate for up to one year, depending on the candidate’s timeline and revision needs.
Volunteer benefit: Advisors receive points toward their Diamond upgrade for this contribution.
Advisor responsibilities and service expectations
When a candidate registers to complete a portfolio, they are assigned an advisor. Advisors are expected to:
- Acknowledge receipt promptly
- Reply to the candidate within 48 hours to confirm you received the materials and to provide an estimated timeline for your review.
- Complete the review in a timely manner
- Review the candidate’s portfolio against the Candidate Checklist and the approved sample materials available online.
- Return your feedback within 2 weeks. Two weeks is the maximum expected turnaround time.
- Document completion
Please only volunteer if you can meet these timelines
We have had issues in the past with advisors not responding or completing reviews within expected timeframes. Candidates depend on timely feedback to keep their progress moving. By volunteering, you are confirming you can meet the response and turnaround expectations listed above.
If you cannot consistently meet the 48-hour acknowledgement and 2-week review window, please consider volunteering in a different capacity at this time.
