Greater Columbus Convention Center General Manager John R. Page Honored as a Member of Columbus Business First 2021 Power 100
5/25/2021
Columbus OH - John R. Page, General Manager of the ASM Global-managed Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC), has been selected by the editorial team of Columbus Business First as a member of the Columbus Business First 2021 Power 100! ![]() In their selection of Page, Columbus Business First noted that although the tourism sector has been substantially harmed by COVID-19, Page’s leadership of the convention center has been notable by his strategy to “leave no stone unturned” in his pursuit of non-traditional uses of the convention center, turning it into a venue for movie screenings, weddings, and yoga among other event usages. Further, Page’s leadership will be critical to the recovery of the tourism industry. A 23-year ASM Global veteran, Page became general manager of the GCCC in 2013 and oversees the GCCC’s daily operations, stakeholder relationships and business development. Additionally, Page serves as a commissioner on the Ohio Expositions Commission, the governing body for the Ohio Expo Center and Ohio State Fair, is the board chair of The Ohio State University’s Hospitality Management advisory board and sits on the Board of Directors of Tourism Diversity Matters. A Certified Tourism Ambassador, Page is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in marketing and a master’s degree in sports management and has been previously honored by Columbus Business First among the Most Admired Chief Operating Officers in Central Ohio, recognized as a Central Ohio Smart 50 Award recipient and as a Diversity Pioneer by the Central Ohio Champions of Diversity. “At the Greater Columbus Convention Center, we transformed non-traditional uses of the facility into experiences,” said Page. “This recognition from Columbus Business First is a true testament to the collaborative effort we provide within the hospitality and travel industry. I proudly share this honor with my GCCC team who have contributed greatly to the safety and success of the new normal for our industry.” Read more about the Columbus Business First 2021 Power 100 (subscription access needed) at https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/05/05/the-2021-power-100-part-3.html ABOUT GREATER COLUMBUS CONVENTION CENTER: The award-winning, 1.8 million-square-foot Greater Columbus Convention Center offers 373,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, 75 meeting rooms and a total of 114,000 square feet of ballroom space among three ballrooms.
