Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau Forms Client Advisory Council
7/16/2015
The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau has invited top hospitality and meeting industry leaders from around the country to participate in its Client Advisory Council. The Council will hold its inaugural meeting, July 29 – 31, 2015, at the Louisville Marriott Downtown. Participants include executive directors, managing directors and senior managers from associations and corporate/for-profit, religious and sports organizations.

The purpose of the Client Advisory Council is to share ideas and experiences on what makes a particular meeting destination top-notch. Louisville wants to hear what industry heavy-weights want and expect when making the decision on where to hold annual meetings and conferences. The city is growing its infrastructure with the anticipated expansion of the Kentucky International Exposition Center, the new 600-room Omni Hotel, the ever-expanding bourbonism experience and all the other existing new projects that are part of the more than $1 billion in investment.

“The CAC is designed to be more than a sounding board for our destination,” said Karen Williams, president & CEO of the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau. “It is also a “think tank” to explore the trends and issues that are most important to clients in the meeting and tradeshow industry.”

The group will be engaged with the Louisville Bureau for the next two years.

About The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau
Since 1968, the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau's(LCVB) primary goal has been to enhance the city and county's economy through tourism development - to promote and sell Louisville as a destination for conventions, trade shows, corporate meetings and pleasure and business travel on a worldwide basis. The LCVB was one of the first Destination Marketing Organizations to become accredited in 2006, through the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program, an independent, international standards program developed by the Washington, D.C. based Destination Marketing Association International. Lonely Planet Guidebooks recognized Louisville as its top U.S. travel destination for 2013. For more information go to www.gotolouisville.com.
